Design for Fun

Breaking free from real needs and working with the desire to have some fun has been a less frequent phenomena but still does exist in Priya's professional life. The need to break free has led to the bold, sometimes silly, a bit enchanting and even award winning products. Presented here are a few samples of this aspect of Priya's work.

Floor covering, 2004

Made from recycled rugs, dhurries and exquisite velvet silks. Pieces with zippers and can be re-composed to make interesting seating layouts. Designed for Zeba Design Studio, Winner of the Elle Decor India Award for Best Flooring, 2004.

Jewellery made from exotic papers, hand and lasercut.

Earrings and pendants, executed by a small enthusiastic of Narikurawa tribals, 2005.

Floor covering 5ft x 7ft.

Made of hand tufted rubber bands and recycled plastic bags. Designed for M A Trading, Badhoi, 2001

Made of recycled plastic bags. A little effort to save the land fills. The rug had little LED's woven into them which light up when walked on.
